STREET SYMPHONY, 2019

Street Symphony by Sopiko Grigolashvili captures a fleeting moment of urban life, where street musicians and dancers become part of an improvised performance unfolding in the heart of the city.

Through expressive black gestures and richly textured layers of warm ochre, amber, and muted earth tones, the figures emerge from the surface like fragments of movement and sound. Some appear absorbed in music, while others seem caught in dance, transforming an ordinary street scene into a spontaneous celebration of human expression.

The figures are intentionally abstract, allowing rhythm, gesture, and atmosphere to take precedence over literal representation. Each silhouette contributes to the visual melody of the composition, echoing the unpredictable harmony between music, movement, and the people who gather around it.

With its tactile surface and dynamic contrasts, Street Symphony celebrates the poetry of street performance — the shared moments when music brings strangers together and an ordinary city street becomes a stage.
